Barn Doors…Can’t Get Enough!

Wow! So, um, it’s been a while, huh? Sorry about that. We have a lot of things in the works but nothing completely finished yet. Rest assured, as soon as we start finishing some of these projects then we’ll post them.

In the meantime, here’s some sliding barn door inspiration! Because, I mean, who doesn’t love a great sliding barn door? I wish there was some place in my house I could incorporate one, but for right now I’ll just drool over them via my computer screen.

That last one is my favorite with the awesome rug and chandelier and the colors. If I had a mountain cabin, it would be that great mix of rustic and modern.

I’m sure the barn doors are just a fad and will eventually fade away, but I’ll just enjoy this very cool decor/architectural deign element and longingly wish for my own.

Have you seen a barn door that is just to die for? Share the link!

Until my next design obsession,

5 Beautiful Gallery Wall Ideas (Plus, Tips!)

I’ve been slowly changing our master bedroom to a brighter, bolder color palate by infusing pops of bold oranges, lime greens, peacock blues, and deep plum colors with our very neutral grey walls and mostly grey comforter. I’m also adding gold, white, and silver accents all over. However, where I’ve been struggling is the gallery wall and shelving I’ve set for another gallery mix.

Here’s what I have so far:

You can see my dilemma. I’ve already planned to paint some of the frames gold and obviously take off the Home Goods sticker and replace with actual art, but can’t seem to decide what art to put in the frames and how to mix it while still maintaining some semblance of balance and cohesion.

So I turned to the Internet to hopefully get some ideas. And, boy, did I! Here are my top 5 gallery wall ideas:

After seeing all these beautiful examples of well-done gallery walls, I’m feeling ready to tackle the project and find some great pieces.

This wonderfully helpful post from Because It’s Awesome also details “5 Rules of the Gallery Wall.”

I hope you feel inspired to try your hand at designing your own gallery wall. If you do, or if you have in the past, I’d love to see pictures! Just post a link to them in the comments.

Until inspiration strikes again,
